The Rock House

We moved to the country because of this house building.  Built in the twenties as a Masonic Lodge, it had been a cabinet shop showroom, an antique store, a home for unwed mothers, and most recently, a church. It's solid rock, with pine floors upstairs and beadboard ceilings. It was love at first sight.

Best of all it was space, lots and lots of space.

The only thing wrong with it was ......it was across the street from the train tracks. In fact the train station was across the street, until it was torn down in the sixties. So the train is the background of our lives and that's where the name of the blog came from.
